Travel Advice & Information
The Seychelles is in luck when it comes to summer weather, with milder temperatures and less rainfall encouraging laid-back beach days and idyllic island-hopping holidays. Seychelles summer holidays can incorporate more than one of the 115 islands and Mahé, the largest island, is a good place to start. Visit the Seychelles’ capital, Victoria, with is traditional Creole architecture and authentic rum distilleries. The Morne Seychellois National Park, nestled within the island’s craggy centre, presents plenty of hiking opportunities and the cooler summer climate allows for on-foot exploration.
There’s much more to the Seychelles than pristine beaches and paradisiacal scenery, too; the lush landscapes are home to a whole host of wildlife, including Aldabra giant tortoises, Hawksbill turtles and terrapins. Praslin Island’s jungle-clad interior, particularly Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve, is the place to spot them and this marvellous cast of creatures have earned the islands the moniker of ‘the Galapagos of the Indian Ocean’. Just like the South American archipelago, the Seychelles invites wildlife-lovers to explore its varied habitats on one of our Seychelles summer holidays.
