Destination Specialist
Our destination specialists have been born, lived or have travelled extensively in the countries they represent, and know the little secret extras that make all the difference to your tailor-made trip. Our destination specialists each focus on a handful of destinations and share the key qualities of being excellent listeners, communicators and organisers. They control our clients’ bookings from beginning to end, offering a highly personalised service.
Service Specialist
The role of the Service Specialist is to assist the Destination Specialist in the logistics of the trip: securing reservations, providing documentation, making sure supplier payments are made, confirming logistics, organising our exclusive additional services and generally monitoring the many moving parts of a tailor-made trip.

Europe Sales Consultant
We are excited to be recruiting a Sales Consultant for our European Sales team, a position which offers excellent prospects in a rapidly growing and award-winning tour operator. Our key requirement is someone who is passionate about, and experienced in travelling in, Europe.
THE POSITION
We have a strong heritage in Europe given that the initial proposition of the company was The Big Short Break, which focused a lot on Europe. Key regions of interest include: Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain, France and Croatia. Detailed knowledge of the Nordic countries of Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden would be a big benefit.

MAIN ROLES
Providing high standard of sales and service levels for clients interested in holidays to your region; looking to develop as quickly while at the same time setting the example for the support level team in the company; selling holidays to clients in the most effective combination of conversion, service, knowledge and margin production and ultimately playing your part in ensuring that your team surpasses its targets.
SPECIFICS
- Selling to clients via email, phone, letter and in person
- Producing, pricing and amending itineraries
- Generating bookings from new customers through all appropriate channels
- Maximising retention of existing customers
- Achieving and exceeding pre-set sales targets
- Overseeing your Service Team in the production of documentation for your clients
- Checking that welcome home packs have gone to your clients prior to their return
- Contacting clients on return, thanking them for booking with us, obtaining feedback and nurturing for next trip
- Expanding and developing existing product
- Maintaining and building relationships with suppliers and country tourist boards
- Researching and updating destinations, activity and hotel information
- Involvement in the product and pricing planning processes, including assisting purchasing team with the negotiation of improved supplier contracts
- The possibility of research trips
- Taking an active role in team meetings
- Participating in company events, sometimes outside office hours
- Supporting the marketing team with ideas for social media and PR requests
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- Passion for, and demonstrable knowledge of European destinations

THE POSITION
Our Asia team covers destinations from India & Sri Lanka, to Japan, across Southeast Asia and into Australia and New Zealand, and we are seeking candidates with passion for, and knowledge of, these areas. We will consider people with solid general knowledge of the regions or people with specialised knowledge in sub-regions or countries. We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with knowledge and experience of travel in South East Asia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand and Australia.
We are also interested in sales consultants who have experience or passion for product. As the sales team grows, there will be possibilities to take on product responsibilities for one or two countries within the region alongside the vast network of product experts in our parent company in France.

Flight Service Consultant
We are excited to be recruiting a flight service consultant to join our Flights team, a position which offers excellent prospects within our award-winning tour operator. This position is a new role within our Flights team being created as we continue to grow.
THE POSITION
Our Flights team is an integral part of the customer experience at Original Travel. The main aim is to work together with other Operations teams, with our Sales team and suppliers to deliver an exceptional standard of client service at all times.
The key skills required to be successful in this role are organisation, attention to detail and the ability to work well with others, experience in a GDS such as Amadeus is also preferred.
MAIN ROLES
Working closely with the Flights coordinator and Senior Flight Executive to provide flight product, booking quality control and administration support for the Operations team and Travel Consultants.
SPECIFICS
The role is varied, and the team is growing and working in different ways to improve the service we offer but the main day-to-day tasks are as follows:
- Working within the Flights team in all flight related elements of a client’s booking the main tasks include:
- Quality checking flight bookings in our CRM system
- Booking seats and additional flight services in GDS or supplier website
- Booking and confirming airport services; meet & greet, airport lounge
- Providing check-in online services for clients
- Becoming experienced with all in-house and external systems
- Supporting ticketing staff in the flights team
- Attending both internal and external flight training
- Attending some airline meetings & events with the flights team
- Assisting with internal flight reporting
- Supporting the Operations team with other relevant administrative tasks
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
- High level of organisation and attention to detail
- Two years’ experience in a similar role, ideally at a comparable travel company, but other industry experience will be considered
- Knowledge of and experience of using Amadeus or similar GDS is desirable but not essential
- Travel and product knowledge is desirable but not essential
- Proven ability to deliver high quality results in a timely fashion
