A few suggestions to get the holiday planning process started
Practical advice and inspiration to help you prepare for your holiday
We've arranged hundreds of hugely successful luxury honeymoons to the best destinations around the world and have made many newly-weds blissfully happy. Your honeymoon is different from any other trip you take - even for those who travel regularly - so we have collated advice from our specialists for how to make the most of your honeymoon.
1 / Relax and Recharge
Whether you're going straight from the wonderful (but exhausting) wedding day or a little day down the line, you'll want to make sure you have plenty of time to unwind and relax. We recommend that even the most intrepid honeymooners put aside a couple of days in a spa, resort or boutique hotel where they can recharge recharge the batteries and really enjoy the rest of the journey without feeling frazzled and rushed.
2 / Timing is everything
If you get married in June and your dream is to discover Asia, we'd probably advise you to shift your honeymoon to later in the year to avoid the monsoon. If you have your sights set flying off on a Mediterranean getaway the day after the wedding, but your big days falls right in the middle peak season, we can find a cost-effective but equally wonderful alternative option with better prices and less tourists. We don't want you to compromise on what is potentially the most important holiday you'll ever take, so we can tailor-make a luxury honeymoon break that ticks all of the boxes by thinking outside of the box.
3 / The best possible wedding present
If you don't want to compromise on the things that are important to you during your trip such as that gourmet dinner at sunset on the beach, or a whole spa pamper day for you and your love (entirely understandable), honeymoons can get expensive. Our Honeymoon Gift List service allows your friends and family to contribute to the overall cost of your Original Travel honeymoon, meaning that you can add on those wish list items and your loved ones can feel like they gave you something you will truly cherish.
4 / Preparation is key
As with your actual wedding day, preparation for the honeymoon is absolutely key. Just like you wouldn't choose a caterer or venue last minute, don't leave the all-important honeymoon down to chance. The earlier you book, the more likely you are to get the dates you want in your dream destination, as well as better priced flights and accommodation. Our destination experts will get to know all about you and what you want from the trip so they can tweak and tailor-make every element of it. And if you change your mind about any of it, they're also on hand to add some extra elements in like a guided tour of the city or a day out on a beautiful big yacht. With everything looked after well ahead of time, you can look forward to saying your vows without the worry of travel admin.
5 / Make it yours
Just as you and your partner are unique, each Original Travel honeymoon break is unique. We offer a bespoke luxury honeymoon service which includes your own dedicated honeymoon planner who is happy to visit you at your home or office laden with maps, insight and in-depth knowledge, and will work with you for as long as it takes to perfect your dream honeymoon.
