With the little ones in tow, spend the first afternoon of your trip discovering the floating city’s winding alleyways and intricate bridges. Set off on a guided tour to discover some of Venice’s most famous sites, before indulging in authentic Italian fare at a restaurant recommended by our local Concierge. On your second day, tour the city from the waterways aboard an elegant gondola, drifting past palaces and extravagant facades. Round off your trip with a traditional glass-making workshop led by expert glass-makers from Murano, followed by some excellent Venetian seafood from a canal-side restaurant. Bellissimo!

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Your family adventure kicks off today, so head to the airport for a short flight to Venice. You’ll arrive in this floating city in time for a late lunch, so hop in a private transfer to your hotel before setting off in search of some traditional cicchetti (Venetian-style tapas).

Although you’ll enjoy a private guided tour of the city’s treasures tomorrow, this afternoon, we recommend getting acquainted with its winding alleys and elegant bridges. Need inspiration? Our detailed Dossier lists our favourite things to do and places to eat in the city (you’re welcome).

The secret to enjoying Venice with children? Keeping them captivated by its culture every step of the way. Luckily, our family-friendly guide is here to help. An expert on all things Venetian, they’ll bring this city’s grand palaces and art to life for young imaginations.

Begin the day with a gondola tour (you're in Venice, after all). Float past magnificent buildings, beneath charming windows and under beautiful bridges for a view of Venice like no other. The tour will continue on foot, taking you to iconic spots like the unforgettable Piazza San Marco and historic Fenice Theatre, as well as hidden, off-the-beaten-track treasures. To keep the youngsters engaged, they’ll receive a fun games booklet to help them learn about Venice along the way.

Next on the agenda of your family's long weekend in Venice is a two-hour glass-making workshop in the heart of the city. Led by a professional glass-maker, this experience is an authentic alternative to the tourist-centred sessions on Murano (world-famous for its spectacular glassworks). So, who can make the best glass artwork? Family fun and friendly competition are guaranteed, as well as a fascinating insight into this traditional craft.

After all your hard artistic work this morning, treat yourselves to a leisurely lunch of exquisite Venetian seafood at a canal-side restaurant. Come early evening, sip on an Aperol spritz (or a spremuta – fresh fruit juice – for the children) while watching the sky turn pink over the canals. You’ll soon see why Venice is called ‘La Serenissima’…

Sadly, it's time to head home from your long weekend in Venice. Gather the little ones for one last stroll around the city and savour a final espresso or schiumetta (babyccino) in one of Venice’s charming campi (squares). Make sure you’ve stocked up on souvenirs (edible gifts are always a winner) before hopping in a private transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
