Practical advice and inspiration to help you prepare for your holiday
Practical guide
Cambodia is coming of age as a destination, and that’s as much for children as couples, so let us help you plan your tailor-made Cambodia family holidays. Our expert team of Asia consultants know Cambodia inside and out, and can help put together a detailed tailor-made Cambodia family holiday itinerary for you that includes a beguiling blend of culture, beach time, adventure and wildlife watching. Even better, our additional services - such as fast track check-in and security, as well as lounge access (even if flying economy) at the airport - are exclusive to us and a godsend on any family trip, as are the services of our clued-up local Concierge, available throughout your stay in the country.
So what to do when you're there? No Cambodia family holidays would be complete without a visit (often by bicycle) to the iconic temples of Angkor, including Angkor Wat itself. Our dedicated guides are brilliant at bringing the temples vividly to life, and we give children brilliant booklets that show how elaborate and brilliantly colourful the temples once would have been. Given Angkor's popularity, we are also expert at making sure you and the family visit at times when there are a fewer crowds.
Another 'must-do' should be a visit to Tonle Sap, a large lake where fishing communities live in floating villages. The children can see what life is like for these families who survive through subsistence fishing. It will be an eye-opener for sure.
From village-life to wildlife, we could also weave a visit to the beautiful Cardomom Mountains into any Cambodia family holiday itinerary, including a stay in an eco-lodge (including, perhaps, one floating on a lake) from which to explore the surrounding jungle to see- with luck - Asian elephants and gibbons.
Finally, head to the south coast for a final stint on the beaches along the coast or at one of the luxurious island retreats offshore from Kep. Some beachtime and snorkelling make for the perfect finale to any Cambodia family holidays.
