Depending on which of the numerous daily flights to Geneva we have booked for you, you will arrive between late morning and early evening. Once you have cleared customs and collected your luggage, making sure you exit on the French side of the airport, you will meet one of our team on the ground for the hour-long private transfer to your Megeve hotel. Before your first honeymoon dinner, enjoy the bottle of champagne we've left in your room and raise a toast to the first night of your honeymoon.
This morning you will meet some new friends - the team of huskies who will pull your sledge through the snow on a wonderful dog sledding adventure. Suitably wrapped up against the cold and with a ready supply of hot chocolate (or vin chaud, we won't tell) you will begin with a lesson from your experienced guides in the technique of mushing. You will then have the chance to try out your newly learned skills on a 30 to 40-minute trip. The sensation of zipping across the snow being pulled by eage huskies is magical. This afternoon we recommend spending some quality time a deux, and depending on what you would like to do, we can book you into your hotel's salubrious spa for a couple's treatment or two (after all, wedding planning is a stressful business) or arrange for lift passes so you can ski Megeve's slopes. We can also arrange champagne and an ice bucket on top of a mountain, a tandem bobsled or chocolate-covered strawberries, just let us know!
After breakfast this morning you will meet your expert snowshoeing guide in the lobby of your hotel for a half-day snowshoe expedition into the untouched wilderness surrounding Megeve. Depending on your fitness levels - snowshoeing is much harder work than it looks! - your guide will take you to some of the most beautiful spots in the Alps. If you weren't already married, we'd suggest this as an excellent opportunity for either party to get down on one knee, it really is that romantic. You can also go ice diving, ice climbing and even skijoring (skiing while being pulled along by a horse). The afternoon is yours to explore. We highly recommend having a nose around the luxury boutiques and picturesque alpine bakeries in Megeve's cobbled centre, before another wonderful dinner this evening.
A honeymoon wouldn't be a honeymoon without a bit of downtime. Today is for you to spend as you like. If we've arranged lift-passes for you we can also include an expert guide for some off-piste action, or you could spend the day pottering from bakery to café enjoying French hot chocolate and patisserie, or enjoying a naughtily long lunch gazing into each other's eyes over a fondue. Should you decide you fancy anything else, we are just a phone call away.
This morning, you will be privately transferred up to Megeve's altiport for a half-an-hour private heli-tour of the region. As you swoop over mountains and valleys, your guide will point out the mountains and communities among them, including the King of the Alps, Mont Blanc. After your tour, why not head off to one of the tiny mountain villages you spotted from the air for an extended lunch? One call and we can have a car and driver at your doorstep for the rest of the day.
For the last evening of your honeymoon, we've arranged a rather special dinner up the mountain. Once night has fallen, you will head up to a mountain lodge at 6,000ft on the back of two snowmobiles, driven by expert guides. Once you have arrived at your destination, you will make your way inside to your table you will be treated to a possibly the highest altitude (and most sumptuous) meal you've ever enjoyed. Following one final toast to your new life together, you will descend the mountain by sledge for one final night in Megeve before heading home tomorrow.
Depending on which of the many return flights to the UK we have booked for you, you will be transferred back to Geneva airport after breakfast or lunch and will land back in the UK between mid-afternoon and early evening.
