Practical advice and inspiration to help you prepare for your holiday
You can't go wrong with a family holiday on the Puglian coast. You and the children can spend your days swimming in clear turquoise waters, relaxing on beautiful beaches and enjoying as many gelatos as you can stomach. If you can tear the children (and yourself) away from the beaches, you'll find that there's no shortage of beautiful historical towns in Puglia. Visit the 1500 cone-shaped trulli stone houses in Alberobello, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the clifftop town of Polignano a Mare, where you can watch the crashing waves from balconies and take the children to a cornetteria (shop specialising in Italian-style croissants).
If the gelato/croissant combination results in a sugar rush and your little ones are bouncing off the walls, our Sharky & George fun packs, stuffed full of games and activities, should keep them entertained for hours, giving you parents a chance to relax and enjoy the stunning sea views.
Meanwhile, Puglia is home to a couple of our all-time favourite family-friendly hotels, one designed to replicate a traditional Puglian village but one with a spa, golf course and kids' club, and another a 16th-century watchtower surrounded by ancient olive trees with views out to the Adriatic sea.
