Practical advice and inspiration to help you prepare for your holiday
While the accommodation in some of the rainforest reserves is a little on the simple side (but comfortable enough for a few days), the Borneo Rainforest Lodge is the ideal Honeymoon bolthole. The lodge offers a handful of chalets, some of which boast private outdoor bathtubs overlooking the gurgling Danum River - the ideal spot to unwind and enjoy the evening rainforest chorus with a glass of chilled vino.
After a few days adventure in the rainforest, R&R will most certainly be the order of the day. Beach hotels in Borneo range from the Shangri-La Rasa Ria with its sweeping sand beach, to blissful island retreats including Bunga Raya and the Gaya Island Resort, all of which come with a Spa for obligatory Honeymoon pampering. Spend days lazing on powder soft beaches, snorkelling colourful reefs and indulging in a range of delicious Asian cuisines either with a private beach picnic or a candlelit dinner with your toes in the sand.
