Summer

May - July

March - April

As the snow melts away, the famous lakes of Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri start to melt, revealing their crystal-clear waters, while the snow-capped mountains provide a dramatic backdrop. The annual Matho Nagrang festival is a captivating event celebrated at a Matho monastery on the 15th day of the first month of the Tibetan calendar. Lasting two days, the festival features dance performances by monks of the monastery, who wear colourful silk brocaded robes and masks depicting various gods and goddesses.
