Discover different ways to explore Canada
Practical advice and inspiration to help you prepare for your holiday
Begin your alpine adventure in Vancouver – voted one of the most liveable cities in the world – and explore the vibrant walkable neighbourhoods, charming local markets and thriving art and theatre scene. Next, the famous Sea to Sky Highway will take you all the way to Whistler, widely regarded as one of the top skiing destinations in the world. Here you can enjoy days filled with uninterrupted skiing and snow-based activities – our Canada skiing holidays really do have it all. Try dog sledding through the pristine powder or snowshoeing in the forest, for the ultimate tour of the sweeping snowscapes. The resort also boasts the second-longest ski run in North America, at an impressive 5,200ft in length.
Off the slopes, there are plenty of pampering activities to soothe aching muscles and unwind after an adrenaline-filled day. The local spa is equipped with a jacuzzi, sauna and excellent wellness treatments, including deep tissue massages. Whistler is also home to some incredible culinary delights, to sufficiently fuel your daytime excursions including rich cheesy fondue, fresh sushi and pearly oysters. There are sights to see beyond the snow, too, such as the First Nations museum, which will introduce you to the history of the native Squamish and Lil'wat people. The Peak 2 Peak Gondola is well worth a ride as well, connecting Whistler and Blackcomb mountain with awe-inspiring views of Fitzsimmons Creek below. The gondola also provides an easily accessible way of hopping between runs on the two mountains.
The vast array of après-ski offerings and additional activities make our Canada skiing holidays much more than a traditional ski trip. Whistler-Blackcomb has quickly risen up the ranks of ski resorts, to become a strong contender for the top spot as ‘world’s greatest ski resort’. If skiing isn’t your sport, Whistler is also renowned for being a snowboarder’s paradise, and if your skills need a refresher or you want to learn something new, we can organise lessons at Whistler Ski School. The designated ‘family zones’ on both mountains make it an ideal destination for every generation, while the vast number of trails (over 200 across the two mountains) mean it’s also great for big group holidays.
