Tanzania artfully marries pearly beaches and knock-your-binoculars-off safari trips, offering keen and curious solo travellers the best of both worlds on their African expedition. Tanzania solo travel is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with yourself and the breath-taking natural world around you, with slips of serene coastlines (ideal for lounging) and savannahs flush with elephants, lions and more. This is one of the safest solo travel spots Africa has to offer, and you’ll be met with countless friendly-faced locals, who are keen to share their home and hearts with you. On one of our Tanzanian itineraries you could find yourself awaking in a private safari lodge, where you can pull back the curtains to reveal the ultimate viewing platform for the Great Migration River crossings. Explore deep into the Serengeti National Park on game drives in search of the famous Big Five or simply hit the beach in Zanzibar to bask in the last of the afternoon sun. However you choose to spend your Tanzania solo travel adventure, be it scaling Mount Kilimanjaro, peering into The Ngorongoro crater, chasing the sun as it rises and sets, or lapping up the phosphorescent waters of Nungwi Beach, you can be sure our expert-led team and on-site Concierges can create the solo trip of a lifetime for you.

"We had a wonderful time! Our guide was amazing - he really did make sure we had the best experience and animal sightings. The Tarangire Park was especially brilliant, but we loved them all as they were all so different. We all thoroughly enjoyed the night safari - we saw lots and it was a great experience. The accommodation was great and the welcome we had at each camp was fabulous. We have had a really wonderful holiday. Thank you so much for another great trip. "

"Excellent balancing of days spent on the right locations, matching our expectations in terms of quality and strategic location. Bakari the Concierge was very responsive and helped us organise a last minute day activity in Stone Town. Our safari driver/guides were simply outstanding and made a difference when spotting animals in the national parks. We loved our complimentary honeymoon dinner on the beach organised by you, thanks again!"

"We had the most amazing time in Tanzania, it really was so special, thank you so much for organising such an amazing trip. Jabali ridge was incredibly special. They went above and beyond to look after us and it definitely will remain one of my favourite places I’ve been. I really can’t say better things about the hotel and the staff. The chef was truly incredible and so considerate about all of our requests. Zanzibar was also beautiful, and the staff again were just impeccable. Hotel was stunning and it was all round an amazing week. Thank you so much for organising our sunset dhow, it was such a treat and was a highlight of the trip. Really appreciate all your help and thanks again for the best holiday. "

Tanzania is a vast, sprawling country rich in beauty and culture, with something for every solo traveller. Whether you’re a safari enthusiast, beach lover or culture vulture, there are countless memorable moments to be experienced here. There’re the infinite plains of the Serengeti National Park, home to fauna, flora and wildlife that are all well worth snapping; migrating wildebeest herds; and soft-footed big cats slinking through the undergrowth. With a trusted tour guide to accompany you, navigate the Serengeti plains with ease, thanks to their years of knowledge and unwavering passion for this magnificent land.

Wildlife havens are something Tanzania has in spades, such as the must-see Ngorongoro Crater; Lake Manyara, known for its incredible tree-climbing lions; and the lesser-known (but equally impressive) Ruaha and Selous reserves. While there’s no denying that group tours can be hugely enjoyable, there’s something to be said for experiencing a country like this on your own. Tanzania solo travel can supply the opportunity for personal introspection and those all-important blissful moments of solitude, reflection and excitement that make a trip so memorable. Plus, with a solo trip the itinerary is completely your own, meaning you can lounge beachside for as long as you want or adventure to your hearts content. However you opt to travel, you can be sure that you’ll be experiencing some of the world's most enticing islands and historic cities completely at your leisure and pace.

Of course, it’s not all wild tangled lands and beach days. Tanzania can offer so much more, with slick cities rising from the previously quiet and quaint fishing villages, like Dar es Salaam which hugs the coastline and is home to well over four million people. This hub acts as a cultural melting pot with bustling fish mongers, countless craft markets and plentiful restaurant options. However you choose to spend your Tanzania solo travel adventure, be it at your desired pace or soul searching, our experts can create the bespoke itinerary for you, packed with memory-making moments that’ll last a lifetime.
