Passport Validity for Tanzania Travel
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of your visa application.
Other Important Information
It’s advisable to carry identification, such as a copy of your passport and visa, with you at all times. Banks in Tanzania and Zanzibar will not accept $100 USD and $50 USD bills printed before 2006. A ban on plastic bags is in place across Tanzania and there are severe penalties for anyone manufacturing, selling and using plastic bags. For this reason, we would advise travelling with liquids, gels and creams in checked baggage to avoid having to use the small clear plastic bag required for liquids in hand luggage. If you purchase duty free items on your entry into Tanzania, you will be required to leave any plastic bags at the airport.
