Exclusive Caribbean Escape
Guana Island and a Private Catamaran Cruise

Guana Islands - British Virgin Islands

Starting from between £5,740 to £8,260 per person for 10 days depending on the time of year, type of accomodation and activities

Itinerary Highlights

  • Unwind for four nights on Guana Island, an ultra-exclusive Caribbean island
  • Relax on pristine beaches and snorkel in clear Caribbean waters
  • Spend five days exploring the British Virgin Islands on a private catamaran cruise
Located just a short flight from Saint Martin, the British Virgin Islands are full of natural treasures. Home to dazzling beaches and dense forests, they’re as perfect for paddleboarding and nature walks as they are for enjoying cocktails and red snapper on the beach. Luxury yachts and champagne baths are welcome, but so are rustic rum bars and driftwood cabins – here, you have the best of both worlds.

Sticking to this theme, your trip to this patch of paradise is split into two parts: the first is a stay on an exclusive island that only allows 35 guests at any one time. When you’re not relaxing on your private terrace, spend your days lazing on the sand, kayaking, traversing nature trails, enjoying sunrise yoga or watching a film under the stars in the open-air cinema. You’ll then spend five days on a private catamaran cruise exploring the rest of the islands, from the natural pools of the Baths of Virgin Gorda to the mangroves of Beef Island. The boat is reserved for just you and your travel companions as you sail from island to island, dividing your time between swimming with turtles, tucking into fresh lobster and stopping off at rum distilleries. Come evening, enjoy a delicious dinner on the quayside, or, for an even more exclusive experience, we can arrange for you to travel with a private chef on board.

Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Your exclusive Caribbean getaway begins with a 12-hour flight to Saint Martin via Paris. Before your flight, take advantage of our fast-track check-in and complimentary lounge access to make the beginning of your journey as stress-free as possible.

When you land in Saint Martin, take a short flight to Beef Island, the gateway to the British Virgin Islands. You’ll be met at the airport and transferred by car and then by boat (just a ten-minute crossing) to Guana Island.

You’ll spend the next four nights in a whitewashed cottage on this tranquil island: over 2,000 acres of unspoiled nature, including seven sandy beaches and hills covered in dense vegetation and colourful flowers. Look out for pink flamingos lazing on the vast saltwater pond and iguanas sidling across the paths. Only 35 guests are allowed to stay on the island at any one time, and you’re one of them.

Your time on the exclusive Guana Island is yours to spend as you please: laze on the beach of White Bay, or opt for one of the island’s six other beaches; escape into the water for snorkelling, waterskiing, kayaking or paddleboarding; watch a film under the stars in the open-air cinema; visit the island’s organic orchard and sample some of its produce; meet the donkeys on the estate and help the keepers take care of them; find your peace in an early morning yoga session; or indulge in an evening massage.

We’ll also arrange for you to take a guided hike along the island’s trails while you’re here. As you walk, discover the ruins of the sugar cane plantation and the stone foundations of the Lake House, before reaching the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain (806ft) for a dreamy view of the surrounding islands. The trail continues to Long Man’s Point, where a stone staircase cut into the cliff face takes you down to natural pools where you can enjoy a cooling dip.

Wave goodbye to Guana Island and gear up for your next ultimate private adventure. Today, you’ll be transferred to Beef Island where you’ll board your private catamaran for the next five days.

To make sure your next few days are filled with memories to last a lifetime, we’ve planned some exceptional experiences: sip a Paint Killer cocktail in the legendary Soggy Dollar Bar on the island of Jost Van Dyke; stop at the Callwood Rum Distillery in Tortola, an authentic pirate distillery; swim to Norman Island (said to have inspired Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island); discover the Baths of Virgin Gorda by sea, with their natural pools bathed in light and caves lined with coral; enjoy delicious dinners at the quayside; and swim with turtles in the Cooper Island reserve.

Sadly, your Caribbean escape has come to an end. Return to Beef Island where the cruise ends, and take a private transfer to the airport. You’ll fly back to the UK via Saint Marten, arriving home the following day.

Suggestions

Everything in this itinerary is entirely customisable, down to the smallest details. Here are some more suggestions of what could be included

AN EVEN MORE EXCLUSIVE CRUISE

If you’d like to make your catamaran cruise even more exclusive, you can opt for the all-inclusive package. In addition to your private skipper, you’ll be accompanied by a chef-hostess who’ll be by your side to cook meals, share her culinary and regional knowledge and ensure everything is exactly as you like it.

WITH A FEW MORE DAYS...

THE ANEGADA RESERVE

If you have time to spare, extend your private cruise by a few nights to reach a geological wonder: Anegada. This coral atoll at the water’s edge is 11 miles long and three miles wide, climbing to 26ft above sea level. Isolated from others in the north-east of the British Virgin Islands, it’s the second largest in the archipelago. Your time here will be filled with salt ponds, pristine beaches, pink flamingos, 4x4 rides and lobster tasting – what better way to spend a few days?
