Whilst Mauritius' beautiful beaches need no introduction, Belle Mare beach regularly tops the charts with a special prize for it's fine sands. EXCLUSIVE - A NIGHT ON L’iLE DES DEUX COCOS

L'ile des Deux Cocos (which gets its name from the two ancient coconut groves) is off the fishing village of Trou d'Eau Douce. Rumour has it that this ancient pirates' den contains treasure. It was built in the 1920s by British Governor Sir Hesketh Bell and was fully restored in 2000. Unrivalled in Mauritius, it expresses the subtle union of British and Moorish architecture combined with the charm of a Mauritian interior. The colonial atmosphere lingers, from the shaded courtyard with Moroccan traces, harmoniously organised around a fountain, to the solarium, from the garden overflowing with bougainvilleas to the wood-framed swimming pool. In the master bedroom, a whirlpool bath invites you to relax in the evenings. A valet and a chef are available. From 4:00 pm until 10:00 am the next day, you have the island to yourself. Although simply enjoying the villa is enough, you can't beat the satin-soft beaches that border the Blue Bay Marine Park, Mauritius' first marine park, where many species of fish and corals live.
