Itinerary Highlights

  • Stay in two exceptionally luxurious retreats nestled in the Himalayan foothills
  • From abundant nature to sacred cities, disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with yourself
  • Enjoy round the clock treatments: yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic therapies
Whether it’s stress and fatigue or a need to refocus and boost your energy, a getaway to a pair of retreats nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas is the perfect way to recharge your batteries. Yoga, meditation and restorative treatments are all on the agenda at your luxurious retreats, as is contemplating the incredible nature that surrounds you. When you’re ready for a change of scene from your first retreat, head to nearby Rishikesh, a sacred city and world capital of yoga. This spiritual hub is alive with serene monks and plenty of worshipers of Shiva. Kasar Devi is also just a stone’s throw away from your second retreat. Over the years, this charming bohemian village has attracted the likes of Bob Dylan, George Harrison and Cat Steven.

YOUR RETREAT IN RISHIKESH

Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, surrounded by forests and overlooking the holy city of Rishikesh and the Ganges Valley, this spiritual retreat breathes luxury into every detail. The property began its life as the home of a maharajah, which perhaps explains its opulent feel. Now it has the addition of a spa which is renowned for being one of the best in all of India. The treatments are personalised and based on Ayurvedic traditions, a healing practice encompassing ancient knowledge and wisdom of the mind and body. Treatments include four-hand massages, sesame oil anointings and yoga and meditation sessions to relax and refocus the mind. On arrival, you’ll have the opportunity to meet a doctor of Ayurvedic medicine to discuss your health and lifestyle, and you’ll receive a therapeutic plan designed just for you. You can also spend plenty of time soaking in nature in the luxurious Garden of Eden, be that with a sunrise yoga session with peacocks brushing past or some peaceful meditation while listening to birds singing in the trees.

YOUR RETREAT IN KASAR DEVI

Surrounded by breathtaking nature as far as the eye can see, this luxurious mountain retreat is easily one of the most beautiful establishments in the Himalayas. The building was designed by Sri Lankan architect Pradeep Kodikara and his colleague and compatriot Geoffrey Bawa. This dynamic duo are pioneers of sustainable architecture and tropical modernism, infusing each and every space with natural materials from the region, like stone, bamboo and ash wood. The ten luxurious suites feature minimalist furnishings and raw materials, with windows opening onto the magnificent natural surroundings. It’s the perfect base for a relaxing and luxurious retreat.
