Inspiration for your own tailor-made trip
Jamaica
100% customisable for you
Your nearly ten-hour flight to Jamaica will leave London around midday and land in Kingston in the afternoon. Once you have cleared customs and collected your luggage you will be met by one of our team on the ground for a one-hour private transfer to your hotel for the next three nights, the wonderful Strawberry Hill. We recommend getting your stomach onto local time - our tried and true method for beating jet lag - by having dinner and drinks, before hitting the hay early.
Since you're in prime Jamaican coffee country this morning you will set off early for the three-hour guided hike into the UNESCO World Heritage Blue Mountains, to shake of any lingering jet lag and visit Clifton Mount Estate House Coffee Farm. Walk along well-kept trails while your guide points out rare botanicals in the primary rainforest before enjoying a picnic lunch at the farm. Set 5,000ft above sea level, Clifton Mount is the oldest coffee plantation in Jamaica still in operation, as well as the biggest exporter of coffee in the country. After lunch, you will have a tour of the plantation and a tasting of the world-famous Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee.
After your tour, you will be privately transferred back down the mountains to spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure.
After breakfast, you will be taken on a 50-minute private transfer to Port Royal, where you will collect the keys to your boat for the day. From here you will set sail for the 15-minute boat trip to Lyme Cay Beach, a tiny, low lying island of the coast off Jamaica. The day is yours to enjoy on the island - the hotel will provide you with a picnic lunch as there are no shops or restaurants on the island. We recommend taking some snorkels to get the most out of the crystal clear blue waters around the island. At the end of the day, you will sail back to Port Royal before being privately transferred back to Strawberry Hill for your final night in the hotel.
This morning you will check out of Strawberry Hill and be privately transferred to your next hotel, the deeply cool GoldenEye, brain child of legendary music producer Chris Blackwell and the one-time home where Ian Fleming dreamt up Bond and wrote many of the 007 novels. The journey will take roughly two and a half hours, skirting Blue Mountain National Park before heading along the coast to your hotel. After checking into your villa it will be time for lunch - we recommend choosing from one of GoldenEye's excellent eateries - before exploring all that's on offer at the resort. This evening, make sure to enjoy a Blackwell rum punch at restaurant Bizot.
After breakfast this morning you will wander down to the docks to meet your skipper for your deep-sea fishing expedition. The waters around Jamaica are teaming with prize catches, including blue and white marlins, barracudas, sailfish, spearfish and wahoos. After a day's fishing, including a picnic lunch on the high seas, you will head back to GoldenEye in time for a rather special dinner. This evening, we have arranged a private, candle lit dinner for you on the farthest tip of the peninsula. Your private chef will keep the dishes - and fine wines - coming as you relax and take in the view across the Caribbean until you're ready to retire for the evening.
The next two days are yours to enjoy at leisure. There is plenty to explore at GoldenEye, although you may prefer to waft between the pool, spa and bar - which would be perfectly understandable. Activities on offer include a Spa package at the FieldSpa spa, snorkelling excursions, private stand up paddleboarding lessons on the lagoon, kayaking, private sailing lessons, excursions to the coral reef in a glass bottom boat, or a visit a local rum bar, or three.
Today it is sadly time to wave farewell to Jamaica but we've got a treat in store for you, and especially for you're a music fan. En route back to the airport, you'll stop in the Jamaican capital where you and your guide will follow in Bob Marley's footsteps on a tour of Kingston taking in the Bob Marley Museum (in the one-time Tuff Gong music studios), Trench Town and the current Tuff Gong studios to hear more about the great man's legacy. After this musical mystery tour, you will continue on to Norman Manley International Airport for your flight home. The overnight flight will leave Jamaica in the evening and takes nine hours.
Your flight will land back in London at breakfast time.
