Your 11-and-a-half-hour direct flight to Los Angeles from London leaves at around midday. The flight lands in the City of Angels in the afternoon. Once you have cleared customs and collected your bags, one of our team on the ground will meet you for a 20-minute private transfer to your hotel for the night. Our local Concierge will be on hand to recommend the best local bars and restaurants to enjoy on your first night in LA.
Spend this morning relaxing on the beach in Santa Monica, jumping the waves and wandering along the pier. After lunch, you will be privately transferred back to the airport in good time for your mid-afternoon flight to Mammoth Lakes. An hour-and-15-minutes later, one of our team will take you to your hotel in the mountains. This evening, our Ski Butler will visit you at your hotel and fit you out with all the latest ski gear you'll need for the next few days, including helmets and state of the art skis.
We can arrange lift passes for you, so you can spend the next two days skiing the pistes of Mammoth Lakes, one of our favourite Californian ski resorts. We can arrange guides if you'd like to do some cross-country skiing or go backcountry (North American speak for off piste), and book instructors if you'd like lessons or a refresher class. We can also arrange snowshoe excursions. In the evenings, we recommend exploring the town's foodie and craft beer scene. Rejuvenating and authentic Mammoth Lakes serve up a slice of the idyllic lifestyle so many Americans love.
Spend this morning skiing before one of our team on the ground meets you for a short private transfer back to the airport, with plenty of time to make your late afternoon flight back to Los Angeles. Once you have collected your bags, you will be privately transferred to your hotel right on Huntington Beach (also known as ‘Surf City’) - roughly 45 minutes away - ready for sundowners on the beach.
Spend the next two days catching waves and rays on Huntington Beach, one of California's favourite surf spots, to the south of Los Angeles. We've arranged board hire - and can include wetsuits in the colder months - as well as lessons, so you'll be catching waves and cutting shapes along the waterline in no time (hopefully). Alternatively, we can arrange whale watching boat trips for those less keen on surfing. Spend your evenings exploring the thriving restaurant and bar scene around town, with our Concierge a call or WhatsApp away to recommend the best spots and snaffle a table, no matter what cuisine you fancy.
Spend this morning surfing or relaxing on the beach before lunch and then a private transfer back to the airport in good time for your afternoon flight home. The overnight flight takes ten-and-a-half-hours, so sit back, relax and reminisce on a trip well spent.
