Your World Tour
This is the ultimate family adventure: a summer of grandiose landscapes, long-distance road trips, slow travel and cultural immersion. We’ve put together an incredible itinerary that takes you from the US to Australia to Bali, but because every family is different, this trip is completely customisable (as always). You decide your budget, duration and destinations. We’ll make it happen. For this adventure, we’ve focused on diversity of both landscapes and experiences across three continents and three countries. In New York, Los Angeles, Sydney and Cairns, we’ll put you in contact with a local who will show you a side to their city that tourists rarely see. We’ll arm you with tickets for some unmissable spots, including New York’s iconic monuments (think Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, 9/11 memorial), the Grand Canyon, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Sydney Opera House. The opportunities to forge lifelong memories along the way are plenty, whether watching the sunrise in Australia’s Red Centre, sampling local dishes at an Indonesian market, climbing a volcano by night or taking part in a kite-making workshop.
If you want to top things off with a flight over the Grand Canyon or Great Barrier Reef, a visit to Universal Studios or a Cirque du Soleil show in Vegas, just let us know. We’ll take care of the logistics, including international and domestic flights, priority passage through customs formalities, private transfers, hire cars for exploring at your leisure, and excellent hotels with connecting family rooms. In addition, you’ll have access to our app where you can view your itinerary and our personal recommendations of things to see and places to eat and drink, along with contact details for our local Concierge, who can be reached at any time to help with setbacks, queries, additions to your itinerary or recommendations. The details may still be undecided, but one thing’s for certain: this will be a summer like no other.
Suggested Itinerary:
New York – The Big Apple is the perfect place to begin your adventure. As you emerge from the subway, you’ll see towering skyscrapers and yellow taxis that seem straight out of a film. With your City Pass in hand, set off to explore the city’s essential sites: Top of the Rock or Ellis Island? The Guggenheim Museum or a Circle Line Cruise? The choice is yours. The Empire State Building and Natural History Museum are sure to please the whole family, as is the culinary scene in this magical city.
The American West & Los Angeles – In Phoenix, it’s time for an All-American road trip as you head off to explore one of the world’s natural wonders: The Grand Canyon. Hollowed out by water and time, this natural site will amaze even the most sceptical travellers. In Zion National Park, hike through the Virgin River in The Narrows; in Bryce, take in another incredible canyon. It’s then on to Las Vegas, a dazzling mirage in the middle of the desert before your final American stop in the City of Angels. LA is full of contrasts – Hollywood is nothing like Venice Beach, Santa Monica totally different to Downtown – and it's all yours to discover (with our help, of course).
Australia – Just like in California, relaxed attitudes and good vibes are flowing in Sydney, making it a natural next step in your journey. Sydney is so iconic that it’s often (but wrongly) thought to be the country’s capital. Marvel at its gigantic opera house and soak up the view of the Harbour Bridge overlooking one of the world’s most beautiful bays. Then head towards Uluru in the Red Centre, to a camp where wallabies scamper off into the low light. You’ll wake at dawn to see the rock glow in fifty shades of ochre in the morning light. From desert to ocean, Cairns is your next stop and the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. Beaches, lagoons and snorkelling will characterise your time here, including an escape to the tropical paradise of Fitzroy Island.
Bali – What better place to end your journey than the Island of the Gods? Your first stop here is a cosy bungalow in Jimbaran, the entrance to the sumptuous Bukit peninsula. Along crescents of sand bordered by emerald water, you’ll get a sense of what this fascinating island is all about. Impressive stone statues signify the island’s Hindu culture, and frangipani flowers litter the ground. It’s then on to the town of Ubud, which is full of tradition and friendly locals who skilfully navigate their way around on scooters. For your final days in paradise, you’ll stay in a wonderful hotel overlooking the rice fields, a view that’s fitting of your incredible adventure.
Everything in this itinerary is entirely customisable, down to the smallest details. Here are some more suggestions of what could be included
Flight over the Grand Canyon or the Great Barrier Reef
There are some places that capture the imagination more than others, and these two incredible sites definitely fit into that category. More than just boxes to tick off your list, they’re a lesson in the power and magnificence of nature. The Grand Canyon is vast and astonishing, and there’s no better way to capture this magic than from the air; when you reach the canyon edge, it feels as if the ground is dropping out from underneath you. Thousands of miles away, the underwater world of the Great Barrier Reef takes on a whole new personality from above, helping you to comprehend the scale and structure of this natural wonder.
Tickets to a Cirque Du Soleil Show (Las Vegas) or Universal Studios (Los Angeles)
World-class acrobats, synchronized swimmers and exciting personalities take to the stage in a Cirque du Soleil show that’s representative of the excitement and flamboyance of Las Vegas. At Universal Studios, experience a different kind of enchantment as you visit the sets of your favourite films, and don’t miss the incredible shows and entertainment on offer here.
