Your eight-day trip to Mallorca begins with a two-and-a-half-hour flight to Palma. When you arrive, you’ll be privately transferred to your accommodation for the next three nights - a hotel in the historic centre of the city, just moments from the Plaça d'Espanya and the perfect base for exploring the city.
Spend the next two days exploring the city of Palma, which surrounds a picturesque bay on one side and is framed by mountains on the other. Crowned by a Gothic cathedral, the city’s old quarter is an attractive mix of cobbled streets, Gothic churches and Baroque palaces. You’ll discover it in the company of a local guide, who is proud of their city and knows it like the back of their hand. They’ll lead you on a journey to hidden corners and stunning buildings as they tell tales of Palma’s illustrious characters such as Ramón Llull, Jafuda Cresques, Jules Verne and Junípero Serra. This relaxed walking tour will be adapted to suit you, depending on what you’d most like to see and do.
After your walk, you’ll have the rest of your time in Palma to spend at your leisure. There’s plenty to do here, whether strolling through charming medieval streets and along the ramparts for a magnificent view of the port, visiting the cathedral and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, wandering around the Plaça Major, or discovering the artist Joan Miró’s studio. When you get peckish, get lost between tempting stalls in the Mercat de l’Olivar in search of toast topped with sobrassada sausage, or a sweet ensaimada pastry.
This morning, you’ll pick up your rental car and drive to Ses Salines in the south of the island, where you’ll spend the next four nights in an 18th-century finca that’s been tastefully renovated. This afternoon, go for a relaxed swim as you admire the scenery, with the sparkling sea as the perfect backdrop.
This small rural town in the south-east of Mallorca owes its name to the nearby Roman salt mines. Located not far from the coast, Ses Salines provides easy access to white sands and transparent waters, in particular the superb beach of Es Trenc. The island’s far south remains untouched by mass tourism and is therefore a popular spot for hikers and nature lovers. While you’re here, enjoy the area’s coastal panoramas during a private hike along the south coast that leads you along the rocky coast from Cala S'Almunia to Cap de Ses Salines, offering magnificent views of the sea and the coves on this side of the island. If you like, we can also arrange a private hike from Deia to Soller in the Serra de Tramuntana, a trip to an orange grove before lunch in Soller, or kayaking in the Llevant Nature Reserve.
Today you’ll drive back to Palma airport where you’ll drop off your rental car before your flight back to the UK.
