  • Make memories at every turn with a private sailing trip to the Bénagil Caves and a guided tour of Sagres with a clued-up local
Portugal’s beautiful southern coastline is a place that invites you to disconnect from the stresses of everyday life and bathe in the year-round golden glow of the Algarve with your special someone. Breathe in the fresh sea air at the top of the steep cliffs, get lost in the quaint cobbled streets of Lagos, feast on freshly-caught seafood in traditional restaurants, explore the wild expanses of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, swim and play in the azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean or simply kick back, relax and read a book in the middle of a flower garden.

When you’re ready for a more active adventure, set off on the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, a four-mile route voted among the best hikes in Europe for its breathtaking views across the Algarve’s distinctive white limestone cliffs plunging into the ocean. This is also a great opportunity to observe some of the region’s diverse fauna, particularly the seabirds and bats that inhabit the karst caves. For a dose of culture, hop into your rental car (which will be available for the entire holiday) to discover the delights beyond Lagos, such as the bohemian market of Loulé, the sloping streets of Monchique and the bustling fishing port of Alvor. You can also reach out to our knowledgeable local Concierge for personalised recommendations or assistance with any last-minute plans.

Your Coastal Hideaway:

Hang up your hat for five nights in a beautiful property that combines an exceptional location with the bohemian spirit of the Algarve. Nestled within the walls of the old town of Lagos, this traditional hotel features a grand property facing the sea, as well as a collection of rustic cabins set among the whimsical wilderness of the gardens. Everything from the colours to the materials is designed to reflect the natural setting of the southern Portuguese coast – we’re talking white-washed walls, terracotta tiles and light oak furnishings. The property also features a charming concept store, a vegetable garden, two restaurants, an open-air cinema, a juice bar and a cafe.

Your itinerary:

To enhance your time in the sun-drenched Algarve, our team has arranged for you to enjoy two personalised private experiences during your holiday. Start with a guided adventure in a 4x4 to Sagres and its wild surrounding beaches in the company of a knowledgeable local who knows the coast like the back of their hand. You’ll reach Cape Saint-Vincent, on the remote southwestern tip of mainland Europe, via an off-piste route that travels along idyllic isolated beaches. The second adventure takes you on a sailing trip to Benagil Cave, a remarkable and seriously photogenic sandy seaside cave with an iconic hole in the roof. Continue sailing to some of the coast’s other charming curiosities, including the white-washed cottages of Ferragudo and Carvoeiro and the stunning beaches of Vale de Centeanes, Carvalho, Marinha and Albandeira.
