Early check-in. Private transfer and accommodation for two nights in a hotel in the fashionable Bellavista district, in the heart of Santiago. This is a charming hotel set in a building listed as part of the city's historic heritage. A 1929 family residence, now restored to a boutique hotel
Private tour of Santiago, with expert guide. The city has quite modern tones with its classical and Gothic architecture and hints of Art Nouveau; past earthquakes have spared few colonial buildings. Take a stroll on the delightful Santa Lucia Hill or in the Parque Quinta Normal, visit the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art and La Moneda, the presidential palace, Plaza de la Ciudadania. The next day, head for the Pacific (75 miles away) for a private tour of Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. A famous seaside resort with a very contemporary look before continuing on to Valparaiso. This large horseshoe-shaped bay, dominated by broad hills that descend to the sea, has been the most important harbour on the Pacific coast since the 19th century. Prior to the Panama Canal, all boats stopped there after making the arduous journey around Cape Horn. Its 15 rumbling funiculars still scale the countless hills that dominate the Pacific Ocean.
Transfer to the airport and flight to Calama, then drive to San Pedro de Atacama. Four-night stay at Casa Atacama. Nestling in the heart of San Pedro de Atacama, this residence is the labour of love of a family captivated by the beauty of San Pedro and the surrounding area. The Casa Atacama is a house with large spaces, guaranteeing refinement.
Included: Full board, access to the swimming pool, Turkish baths, whirlpools, sauna, as well as two half-day small group activities (maximum nine participants) or a full-day activity with a guide. Choose from: stargazing, treks, bike riding, archaeological excursions...
The itinerary includes the Atacama Desert - one of the driest deserts in the world. Thanks to the dry air, the skies are exceptionally clear. San Pedro is an oasis. The church, made of adobe brick, is one of the oldest in the country (17th century). During these three days, we will visit the Museo Arqueologico R.P. Gustavo Le Paige, which documents in detail the ingenious civilisation of the Atacama Indians. Then visit the pre-Columbian sites of Quitor and Tulor too. It would also be a great idea to explore the salt flat lagoons, which harbour large colonies of flamingos. Early in the morning, the geothermal site of El Tatio, with its steam columns, is an impressive site.
Transfer to Calama and flight to Santiago. Overnight stay close to the airport, handy solution for the morning transfer the next day to Torres Del Paine Park.
Fly to Punta Arenas, pick up the rental car and drive to the park. Stay for four nights at the Hotel Las Torres, the perfect place for exploring the wonders of the park. The large Torres del Paine National Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Stunning landscapes and a variety of environments are the hallmarks of the southern provinces of Magallanes and Ultima Esperanza. Highlights include Lake Pehoe and Lake Grey at Salto Grande, the waterfall of the Paine River between Lake Nordenskjold and Lake Pehoe, and the Torres, the three granite peaks (8,500, 9,200 and 9,400 ft) that gave the park its name. Wild guanacos and stunning mornings are on the agenda. National Geographic ranked the park the fifth most beautiful place on the planet. Walk or bike through the park's wilderness - Ride with a gaucho through the pampas grasslands - Float from the sauna to the steam room and from the pool to the whirlpool, to recharge - Snuggle up with a book in the living room, around the fire, with the stunning landscape as a backdrop.
