February is the height of Chile’s summer season, which inevitably brings more visitors and busier beaches, particularly in the southern Lake District region and the seafront of Viña Del Mar. However, with many residents heading out of town for their summer holidays, it’s an ideal time to explore Santiago – the Chilean capital – without the crowds.
