Inspiration for your own tailor-made trip
Spain - Andalucia - Malaga
100% customisable for you
International flight to Malaga. On arrival, you will be transferred to Hotel Molina Lario, located in the heart of Malaga. In addition to its ideal walking location, the hotel combines ancient beauty with modern comfort, exemplified by its rooftop swimming pool with stunning views of the cathedral.
Today you can explore Malaga’s historic centre. Located at the mouth of the Guadalmedina River, Malaga is the gateway for holidaymakers looking for the sun on the Costa del Sol. Picasso's birthplace enjoys an exceptional climate and a busy port it is proud of. It also has many residential districts whose villas testify to its wealth. The city unveils its character when you visit a few must-sees such as the Picasso Museum, the Cathedral, the promenade, the Plaza de la Merced, the monument-rich historic district, Larios Avenue and finally the Mercado Central. This three-hour tour, with a private guide, includes admission to the sites visited and a tasting of local products at the Mercado Central.
A tour of the Pompidou Centre is included in the itinerary today, which we can organise tickets for ahead of time. Located between the glass walls of El Cubo, the Pompidou Centre, which was relocated to Andalucia in 2015, brings together 90 modern and contemporary works. El Cubo and its minimalist architecture offer a collection of 100,000 works by Bacon, Magritte and Chagall.
It is impossible to stay in Malaga without paying homage to the region's famous son, Pablo Picasso, born in the Andalusian city in 1881. Follow in his footsteps with a private guide who knows every detail of his life. The walk begins with a tour of the city, from iconic site to iconic site, including the school where the artist's father taught. The museum and the Picasso Foundation are usually closed to the public, but we can secure exclusive access, almost like a one-to-one with Pablo himself.
After picking up the car, there is a two-hour voyage of discovery to another Andalucia that's more rural and wild. Head for El Gastor, a typical village on an artificial lake, located in a largely agricultural landscape. Another option is a half-day visit to Ronda, the spiritual capital of bullfighting and a city of unparalleled historical richness. Stay in hotel La Finca Donaira, a haven of peace for body and mind, in the countryside.
Spend the next two days exploring the village of Grazalema and strolling through the Natural Park of the same name. Or pay a visit to the white villages of Ubrique and Zahara, in the Cadiz Valley.
Soak up the wild, agricultural landscapes of Andalucia for the last time during the drive to Malaga Airport, a good two hours away. From there, catch your international flight home.
