Itinerary

100% customisable for you

Your Belize saltwater fly fishing trip starts with a flight from London to Miami. We recommend taking the morning flight so that you can arrive in Miami in good time for a good time, and to enjoy the evening at one of the city's many amazing restaurants. The flight leaves in late morning, and takes around ten hours, landing in Miami in the late afternoon. Take a cab downtown to your chic boutique hotel, and our Concierge can recommend the best of the many excellent places to eat and party.

Your onward flight isn't until lunchtime, so you have plenty of time for a lie-in and leisurely breakfast (perhaps nursing the aftereffects of a night in the hedonistic haven of Miami?) before heading back to the airport for the next leg of this bone fishing in Belize trip. Your two-hour onward flight from Miami to Belize City arrives at lunchtime (neatly Belize is two-hours behind the US so you arrive at the same time you took off) and you will be met on arrival by a member of our team for the boat transfer to your eventual destination, a lovely beachfront lodge in the Turneffe Atoll. The journey sees you pass several small cayes (islands) on the way out towards the Lighthouse Reef, the second longest reef system in the world.

The boat transfer takes two hours, which means you'll arrive at your island lodge just in time for a sundowner cocktail and supper at the open-air restaurant.

For the next six days you will be fishing on some of the world's best saltwater flats for the ultimate saltwater fishing prize - bonefish and permit - which are available all-year round, while in the summer months tarpon of up to 130 pounds can be caught. We have chosen this particular operation because the fishing service is second to none and includes eight hours fishing a day, a private local fishing guide and the use of your own skiff to reach the more remote flats. There is a strict catch and return policy. While a week will fly by, we can also arrange three and four-night fishing packages as well.

And while the fishing is exemplary here, fishing widow(er)s and divers/snorkellers should note that this is also one of the finest dive resorts in the Caribbean, with superb access to the Lighthouse Reef system and several superb dive sites, including the iconic Great Blue Hole.

Leave your island idyll after breakfast for the two-hour return boat trip to Belize City in time to board your two-hour flight to Miami, where you will connect (your bags are checked through to London) to the overnight eight-and-three-quarter-hour flight to London.

Your flight arrives back in London in the morning.
