We salute our clients' continuing inspiring approach to exploring the world...
Don't let the lunatics win
We had clients in Marrakech last week at the time of the tragic events in Djemaa el-Fna square. The restaurant that was bombed is popular with tourists but thankfully our clients were having lunch in a beautiful oasis in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains that day. Interesting to hear what they had to say on their return to Marrakech. 'It was, of course, unfortunate to be staying in Marrakech at the time of a terrorist attack, but as I was told by the owner of our riad, ""If we stop buying trinkets in the souqs and drinking tea, the lunatics win.""
Supporting travel to Marrakech
We couldn't agree more. While we are constantly monitoring the situation in the countries we offer, we let extremists of every hew win when we refuse to explore and meet the locals in other cultures. Travel is, quite simply, one of the most civilising things a person can experience, and we salute our clients' continuing phlegmatic approach to exploring the world. For instance, we have noticed an uptick in the number of enquiries for Japan, as people wish to show their support for the beleaguered people of a country bouncing back from tragic events of the last few months. Admirable indeed, and we hope Morocco continues to attract visitors despite the Marrakech attack because it is a truly fascinating place.
