Looking for style, ease and glamour without over the top grandeur? Rio's your place...
Rio - Where to stay?
Looking for style, ease and glamour without over the top grandeur, the 1920's Copacabana Palace was the hotel for me.
What a position!
The Copacabana Palace balconies look out over palm trees that line the beach promenade, and across the blue water of Guanabara bay, blue sky above and white sails on the sea, spanned by the sensational bridge to the city of Niteroi. One minute out of the hotel and you are on one of the world's most famous beaches, four kilometres of it, alive with beautiful people at play. Eat your heart out Berlusconi!
Anything to do?
Plenty. Rio rocks - really. Train it up Corcovado to the iconic Art Deco statue of Christ the Redeemer; para-glide from Sugar Loaf Mountain on to the beach; eat like a lord in vivacious restaurants; buy a bikini in ""The Girl from Ipaneama"" boutique; join the 80,000 football spectators at Maracana stadium; samba the night away - if you don't know how they'll teach you.
Even easier to get to
From Winter this year BA are making it even easier to get to Rio de Janeiro with flights departing a whopping six times a week so there's no excuse not to lace up your boots for a Brazilian adventure.
