What to do in Copenhagen: Wondercool

What to do in Copenhagen: Wondercool

For the entire month of February, the third ever cultural celebration of Wondercool hits the capital of cool: Copenhagen. A mash up of music, art, food, design, architecture and fashion sees both individual and many crossover events throughout the Scandinavian city.

Gastronomic delights

There are some wonderfully imaginative and enticing culinary events happening throughout the festival. We narrowed our faves down to three...

1. Pancakes enjoyed in the crypt of Copenhagen Town Hall accompanied by old stories of the building.

2. A blue mussel bonanza at Blåt Guld, where local fisher mongers join forces with restaurateurs to create a mini mussel festival.

3. Halsnæs Brewery, a two course dinner with specially chosen draft beers accompanied by great live blues music. The foodie events are a real mix of high-end sit down dinners to casual brunches and street kitchens and even a liquorice tapas event!

Music and all that jazz

If musical offerings are more your thing, head to the museum Diesel House in Sydhavn where Efterklang are performing some of their latest songs on top of a gigantic diesel engine, truly unique industrial surroundings.

There's also the English act Get The Blessing (who won a BBC Jazz Award for their music combining jazz and rock) performing.

Fashion Festival

The Copenhagen Fashion Festival and fashion week are running alongside each other, with a wealth of fashion-related events open to the public.

Art Exhibitions

The National Gallery of Denmark, Arken, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art have a selection of classic and modern art exhibitions on. The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art should be visited for the building alone; often referred to as ""the most beautiful museum in the world"".

Architecture

Architecture and design in general is a huge strength of Denmark's. This is celebrated throughout Wondercool, with exhibitions, tours of design centres and guided walks around some features of the city.

The guided tours are great way to appreciate and learn more about architecture, whilst simultaneously exploring this cool and creative city.
