Hacienda San Jose
Hacienda San Jose is a traditional hacienda, with a distinctly authentic air about it.
The ten rooms (including six junior suites and one master suite) are laid out over two floors, with a wrap-around balcony hugging the first floor of the building. Built in 1888, San Jose is one of the eldest haciendas in the area, as is reflected in the décor of the rooms, which are decked out with dark wood and heavy wooden shutters.
There is a swimming pool surrounded on two sides by the L-shaped building, as well as a small dining room where most meals are eaten - although guests can have breakfast wherever they wish.
Just ten minutes from the city of Pereira, Hacienda San Jose is ideal for those looking for a quick visit into the Coffee Triangle Region while still being close to the city. Activities such as riding and bird watching are all on offer, and of course tours of the coffee region.
Why We Love It
Guests can choose where to have breakfast, and if you're in one of the first floor rooms we recommend breakfast on the balcony as a great way to start the day.
Hacienda Buenavista
Located in the stunning, mountainous coffee region of Quindio, Hacienda Buenavista is a peaceful, adult's only boutique hotel, set amid 100 acres of working farm and orange groves, producing avocado, passion fruit, plantains, and mandarins.
There are just five spacious suites at Hacienda Buenavista, each individually designed, and with a private terrace overlooking the tropical gardens, and surrounding mountains. All rooms feature air-conditioning, complimentary wi-fi, TV, and sumptuous beds.
Dining is all part of the experience at Hacienda Buenavista, with a daily changing menu of local specialities and international classics served al fresco, on the garden terrace. Fine wines, Dutch cheeses, and a homemade Sangria are the perfect accompaniments to dinner, or to be enjoyed in the bar, with spectacular views of the mountains and river La Vieja.
The infinity pool offers the most incredible valley views, and is heated by solar panels so it's always warm enough for a dip. For cooler evenings, retreat to the library, or the salon, with its big comfy sofas. Outdoorsy types will love exploring the gardens and working farm, full of Colombian fruits, and organic vegetables, or making a trip to the nearby waterfall for a dip and a picnic.
Why We Love It
With just five guestrooms and a simply beautiful setting, this will be one of those hotels that you'll want to keep a secret - but also can't help shouting from the rooftops about!
