Travel Advice & Information
Our Croatia experts are on hand to make sure your Croatia solo travel adventure is one to remember. We’ll tailor the trip to make sure it’s perfect for you, but here are just a few experiences you might enjoy:
Dubrovnik is an absolute must-see on a Croatia solo travel trip, especially if you’re a history and culture enthusiast. Stroll across the limestone cobbles of its ancient walled city and let the medieval architecture transport you back in time. If you’re a Game of Thrones fan, you’ll be excited to hear that Dubrovnik is the real-life King’s Landing, where many major scenes were filmed.
If you’re a fan of waterfalls, you might have heard of Plitvice, possibly Croatia’s most famous national park. In fact, it’s so famous that if you search Google Images for ‘waterfall,’ chances are you’ll see Plitvice in the results. Its fame means that, in recent years, it’s become crowded with tour groups and queues of people waiting to get that perfect waterfall shot, so on your Croatia solo travel adventure, escape the crowds with a visit to its lesser-known cousin Krka, an equally beautiful and far less busy option. You can even take a dip in some of Krka’s waterfalls, so don’t forget your swimming costume!
No Croatia solo travel adventure would be complete without a cruise around some of its islands. Hvar is arguably the most famous, with beautiful beaches, modern restaurants and a lively nightlife scene. For something a bit quieter, try the Elafiti archipelago, just off the coast of Dubrovnik. Two of the three islands, Kolocep and Lopud, are entirely car-free, which makes them the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy some R&R.
