A few suggestions to get the holiday planning process started
Practical advice and inspiration to help you prepare for your holiday
Visitors should enjoy time at Kylemore Abbey and the Victorian Walled Garden, which was originally built as a Castle in 1867 as a romantic gift. The Abbey and the surrounding mountains and lakes are steeped in history - learn of tales of tragedy, romance, engineering initiatives and royal visits on your guided visit. It became home to a community of Benedictine Nuns in 1920 and has been renowned as a place of spirituality and education ever since.
Galway City is a thriving, bohemian, cultural city on the western coast of Ireland. It originally formed from a small fishing village located in the area near the Spanish Arch called 'The Claddagh' where the River Corrib meets Galway Bay. The city is a joy to explore with its labyrinthine cobbled streets, colourful shop facades and busy café/ bar culture. It is also well known for its many festivals throughout the year, with huge crowds gathering for the annual Galway Arts Festival. Old Ireland is present too with turf fires and traditional music featuring in many pubs to go along with your well-earned pint of Guinness after a day's sightseeing!
