Kampot - Siem Reap - Battambang - Pnomh Penh - Koh Rong
100% customisable for you
It’s time to conquer Cambodia and begin the first leg of your journey: a thirteen-hour flight to Singapore. After a speedy transfer at Singapore Airport, you’ll board the second, two-hour flight to Siem Reap. When you land in Cambodia it’ll be early afternoon, so hop in your private transfer, steal an extra hour’s sleep and check into your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing by the hotel’s pool and admiring the views, as you’ve got three days of adventure in Siem Reap ahead of you.
Rise bright and early for your first Siem Reap excursion, a part walk, part tuk-tuk ride that leads to Angkor Thom, whose name directly translates to the ‘great city’. This ancient archaeological site was the most important city of the Angkorian era and is home to the largest religious building in the world: Angkor Wat. Despite its size, fame and historical significance, this temple isn’t considered among the New Seven Wonders of the World – but that doesn’t make it any less impressive.
Enjoy a guided tour of two of Cambodia’s captivating destinations during your second day in Siem Reap. Begin by visiting the enchanting Banteay Srei temple, a tribute to Shiva. Admire its exquisite architecture and renowned pink sandstone sculptures, hailed as masterpieces of Khmer art. Then, venture to the mesmerizing Ta Prohm temple, dedicated to the mother of Jayavarman VII, Angkor's revered ruler.
However you spend your final day in Siem Reap, be sure of one thing: don’t eat too much; this evening, you’ll embark on a culinary journey to savour Siem Reap's delights. Crisscross through the city aboard a tuk-tuk, journeying to three eateries and immersing yourself in the city’s vibrant nightlife. Indulge in a tempting array of starters, main courses and desserts and get to grips with Siem Reap’s flavours. This experience not only offers a glimpse into the local food culture but also allows you to admire the city's sights along the way – two cultural Cambodian birds with one stone.
Wave goodbye to Siem Reap and prepare for today’s three-hour private transfer to Battambang, Cambodia’s second-largest city. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel (surrounded by stunning tropical gardens), giving you the rest of the day to explore the sleepy city at your own pace.
Unlike Siem Reap, Battambang is a world away from the well-trodden tourist trail. On today’s private city tour, you’ll encounter authentic rural Cambodia as you wind through its French colonial architecture, visit the 300-year-old Wat Samrong Knong and find bargains at the Central Market. Don’t miss the evening spectacle at the Battambang Bat Caves, where millions of small bats stream across the sky in a hypnotic black ribbon.
A seriously scenic six-hour journey separates you from Phnom Penh, so board the train in Battambang and admire the views as you journey to Cambodia’s capital. After arriving at the station, a private transfer will whisk you away to your hotel just in time for dinner.
This morning, hop aboard a tuk-tuk and explore lesser-known places in Phnom Penh, such as the local market, pastries from street stalls and a street art district adorned with vibrant murals. Whether you’re an art lover or simply curious to discover the charm of the capital’s local life and hidden alleys, this tuk-tuk tour will satisfy your curiosity.
This evening, you'll have the opportunity to explore Phnom Penh with a resident, allowing you to experience life like a local. Our guides have a deep connection with the country, and you'll follow in their footsteps to uncover the city's trendy spots, bustling business districts, delightful street food and numerous markets. The itinerary is flexible, with the walk tailored to your interests and preferences for a truly personal experience.
It’s time to leave the capital behind and begin today’s transfer to Kampot. Despite its charming colonial homes, this riverside town is best known as the capital of pepper production, which it still traditionally cultivates today. After checking into your hotel, venture out and explore the renowned pepper farms, vibrant night markets and Kampot Pub Street's lively bars and restaurants.
Travel along scenic roads this morning to visit a family farm that grows the famous Kampot pepper using traditional, eco-friendly methods. Enjoy a guided tour of the farm, uncovering the secrets of cultivating this renowned spice. After the tour, you'll learn from a chef how to prepare Khmer specialties such as fish amok, ox-lak and green curry with vegetables – all before tasting them, of course.
Say goodbye to mainland Cambodia because today, you’re headed for Koh Rong, a dreamy island on the country’s coast. A private transfer will take you as far as Sihanoukville port, and from here, you’ll board the boat to Koh Rong port. Your home for the next three nights is a hotel perched on the powder-white shores of Pagoda Beach, so settle in and admire the view.
The following two days are all about relaxing Koh Rong-style – after a busy two weeks, you’ll be ready for it. Whether you choose to dive alongside marine life, swim with bioluminescence plankton, race across the waters in a jet ski or simply swing in a hammock on a secluded beach, you’re sure to experience true tropical R&R. In the evenings, be sure to catch a sunset from the west-facing Sok San beach while tucking into delicious seafood at one of the local restaurants.
All good things must come to an end, and sadly, your Cambodian adventure is drawing to a close today. Begin the journey home with a boat ride back to Sihanoukville Port, where a private transfer will pick you up and take you to Phnom Penh. Here, you’ll board the two-hour flight to Singapore before boarding the fourteen-hour overnight flight to the UK.
Hopefully you managed to catch some sleep, as your flight will land in the UK’s cooler climes in the early morning. Collect your bags and begin the final journey home, ready to share exciting Cambodian tales with friends and family.
