Agafay Desert holidays

As you travel into the Agafay Desert, just twenty miles outside of bustling Marrakech, you'll hear the city noise gradually fade away, see the vast landscapes open up and notice the distance peaks of the Atlas Mountains coming into view. Soak up the out-of-this-world surroundings, filled with rich colours, rocky dunes and unusual geological structures. The only thing to break up the landscape is the occasional small wadi, an oasis for wildlife including frogs and turtles. Take a sunset camel trek across golden sand as the sun sinks behind the golden dunes, stretching as far as the eye can see. Then head to your camp in the middle of the desert, where you can lie under a blanket of stars and pick out your favourite constellations before settling into your traditional Moorish tent for the night.
