Meknes is one of Morocco’s four imperial cities, its also the most modest. As the former seat of the Moroccan sultanate, Meknes is home to many architectural jewels in her pretty little Medina. The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail is an incredible example of opulent Moroccan craftmanship, the imperial Bab El-Mansour is the grandest gateway imaginable, and the Bou Inania offers glorious views and elaborate tilework.
