Canada Visa Requirements
You will need an electronic travel authorisation (eTA) to travel to Canada; you can apply for this online before your trip. Travellers will be denied boarding their plane without an eTA.
Some exemptions apply, for example if you have a Canadian visa or a permanent resident card. If you have British-Canadian dual nationality, a valid Canadian passport is needed to board.
For more information, please visit the official Canadian government website.
Passport Validity for Canada Travel
Your passport should be valid for the entirety of your stay in Canada. No additional validity is required, but please note, if your passport has fewer than six months remaining, it’ll probably take longer to get through immigration.
Other Important Formalities
Upon arrival in Canada, you may be required to provide proof of your available funds to financially support your stay. If you are a lone parent travelling with anyone under the age of 18, you should carry a letter of consent from the other parent.
