In celebration of Tel Aviv's flourishing art scene our Expert-Led Art Tours take travellers off the typical tourist trail on an intimate exploration of the city's underground art scene and emerging cultural offerings.
A state born only in 1948, out of the efforts of young idealist pioneers, has meant that the country's youth culture is overwhelming; in turn creating an emerging art scene set to become one of the world's most exciting. Israeli artists engage with the country's social and political complexities through their chosen artistic medium, producing bold visual statements. Nowhere is this spirited confidence and artistic expression more evident than in Tel Aviv.
Original Travel works with Israeli art expert Sarah Peguine and street art guru Guy Sharett to provide local insight into the history and challenges of Israeli artists through expert-led street art tours, guided gallery and museum tours plus the chance to interact directly with artisans through exclusive visits to private artist studios. The tours take in the major galleries of Tel Aviv Museum of Art (which recently received a Roy Lichenstein giant 2-panel geometric mural), Ron Arad's Design Museum Holon and the work of Know Hope; an artist now highly-regarded on the international scene who incorporates strong language and street poetry to his imagery to examine bilateral conflict and a quest for identity.
