Travel Advice & Information Mozambique

Time Difference

Mozambique is one hour ahead of the UK (GMT) and does not observe daylight saving time, so the clocks do not change seasonally.

Money

Mozambique’s currency is the metical (MZM). Banks are open on weekdays, from 8am to 11am and from 2pm to 4pm.

Electricity

Standard current is 220 Volts/50 Hz. And plug types C, F and M are used. We advise you to bring an adapter for all your electrical appliances (you should be able to use a European style adapter).

Shops and Amenities

As a general rule, merchants open from 8.30am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 6pm on weekdays, and on Saturdays from 8.30am to 1.30pm.

Post

Post from Mozambique to Europe takes between eight and fifteen days to arrive.
