Why should you consider a Belize honeymoon?

Belize is every bit as beautiful as your betrothed. Starting inland, the rainforests are home to the full range of Central America's central casting wildlife characters, from howler monkeys and tapirs to the (admittedly more elusive) jaguar, and these amazing animals - and extraordinary birdlife to boot - can be viewed from charming romantic rainforest lodges.

Another ecosystem - this time almost exclusive to Belize - is the country's pine forests region. It can be a strange sensation staying in a coniferous forest in a tropical region, but again there are some sumptuous places to stay and lovely potential for romantic walks and picnics.

The icing on the Belizean honeymoon cake, however, is the stunning stretch of coastline and the cayes (islands) off shore. The cayes form part of the Great Mayan Reef system which extends along the entire coastline of Belize (and beyond) and makes this a superb snorkelling and diving destination for subaquatic spouses.
